While staying true to our Montana guest ranch’s 1920’s vintage heritage, we’re also committed to making your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as it can be. Over the years, our Gallatin Gateway ranch has retained every bit of its original charm, but has gradually gained the sweet refinement and gentility that comes only to a place devoted for over four generations to providing rugged, yet luxurious guest ranch lodging for its guests’ comfort and pleasure. The ranch has 10 historic log guest cabins, five 1 bedroom cabins and five 2 bedroom cabins. The cabins retain much of their original 1920’s character, but comfortable beds and bedding allow you to rest up each evening for the next full day of mountain enjoyment. Each cabin has it’s own private bathroom, indoor and outdoor sitting areas, and either wood or propane stoves.

Dream Vacation It has always been my dream to go on a dude ranch vacation. WOW, did I pick the right dude ranch!!! The Covered Wagon Ranch has far exceeded my expectations. Kurt and Melissa run a top notch, first class ranch. From the time you arrive until the very moment you leave you are part of the ranch family… You will have a meet & greet Sunday evening at the ranch house where you will meet the other guest that will be part of your family for the week. The meals are all served family style and the food is absolutely delicious. I have never seen a more hard working kitchen crew who are all very attentive of your every need. The horseback riding is simply out of this world. The barn crew is another group of hard working individuals who welcome you with open arms. They match you to right horse who will be your horse for the week. The horses are all very healthy and are extremely well taken care of. There are simply no words or pictures to describe the daily horseback riding adventures your personal wrangler takes you on. Every trail is different and the scenery in Yellowstone National Park and surrounding area is absolutely breathtaking.
