It’s good to be an old horse the Covered Wagon Ranch. Beau and Prizm can certainly attest to that. Prizm is in his 30s and his only job is to sometimes pose for pictures with small children and animals. Beau is at least 38 years old. A retired thoroughbred race horse, his speedy days are long behind him.

The only real job an old horse has at the Covered Wagon is to lounge about all day in the shade and eat snacks.

Who needs teeth when your grain is soaked for you?

Of course, being a little naughty only makes the senior life more fun.

It’s hard to saddle when you have two elderly equines scrounging for scritches.
Fresh hay is the best hay.

But as old hands, they also know the value of helping keep the barn clean. By eating snacks.
