Forever After All – Overview

Forever After All is a nonprofit public charity (501(c)(3) founded by Melissa and Kurt Puckett, dedicated to providing lifelong care, sanctuary, and retirement for aging, unsound, or retired horses. Drawing on decades of experience raising, training, and caring for horses at Covered Wagon Ranch, Melissa and Kurt recognized a critical gap in the equine industry: many horses, after years of service as guest ranch, working, or performance animals, face uncertain futures, inappropriate rehoming, or even slaughter.

Our mission is to offer these horses a permanent sanctuary where they can live out their lives with dignity, comfort, and love. Horses remain in familiar pastures, receive comprehensive veterinary care, balanced nutrition, and opportunities for social companionship with herd mates. Ethical, individualized care guides every decision, from daily management to specialized therapies like massage, chiropractic work, acupuncture, and corrective shoeing.

Forever After All also engages the community through education and outreach, teaching responsible horse stewardship, lifelong equine care, and the value of sanctuary. Through sponsorships, donations, and volunteer programs, supporters can directly impact the well-being of retired horses while ensuring transparency and accountability.

Our long-term goals include expanding capacity for retired horses, maintaining a permanent sanctuary property, and fostering an informed, compassionate community committed to equine welfare. Success is measured not only by the number of horses cared for, but by their health, happiness, and the enduring bonds between horses, humans, and the community.
